Fraser Valley Invests in Home Ownership

 

Fort Collins, CO, November 16th, 2009 – Funding Partners, a not-for-profit Community Development Financial Institution, is proud to announce their renewed partnership with the Fraser Valley Foundation.  The Fraser Valley Foundation has committed funds to be distributed in the form of down payment assistance to homebuyers purchasing property in the Fraser Valley of Grand County, Colorado.  

 

Funding Partners accumulates capital from numerous private and public sources to originate low-cost loans that provide the funds necessary for obtaining traditional mortgage financing.  Since 1999, more than 1,500 homebuyers have utilized Funding Partners’ programs across the state, representing over $14 million in loan originations.

 

Down payment assistance programs have remained in high demand for the resort and mountain communities due to home prices being beyond the means of the local workforce.  The Fraser Valley Foundation is committed to assist the residents of Fraser Valley achieve home ownership by closing the gap between the desire to purchase a home and the resources to make home ownership a reality.

 

According to Kent Hughes, President of Fraser Valley Foundation, “The Fraser Valley Foundation is proud to have invested $50,000 with Funding Partners to be used for down payment assistance for residents of the Fraser Valley.  Even though these are difficult economic times, we believe that it’s the right time to offer this assistance to potential home buyers who want to be a part of Fraser Valley’s future.”
